Billet & Braid Safety and Liability Terms
These terms form part of the Cubby House Fabworks Terms of Service.
BILLET & BRAID FITTINGS AND HOSE – SAFETY, INSTALLATION AND LIABILITY
Billet & Braid AN fittings, hose ends, adapters and hose ("B&B Products") are available on this Website from Cubby House Fabworks. B&B Products carry fluids such as fuel, oil and coolant, often under pressure and heat. A leak or failure can cause fire, injury, loss of fluid or serious engine damage.
By purchasing a B&B Product, you acknowledge and agree that:
(a) Installation. B&B Products must be selected, assembled and installed by a suitably competent person (or a licensed mechanic) in accordance with good workshop practice. We cut hose to the length you select. You are responsible for correct assembly, thread engagement, tightening and sealing;
(b) Suitability. You are responsible for confirming that the product (including its size, thread, material, temperature and pressure limits) is suitable for your application, the fluid being carried and the other components in your system. Product information on the Website is general guidance only. The lowest-rated component in a system sets the limit of that system, and you must not exceed the rating of any component;
(c) Cleaning, testing and inspection. Before use, you must inspect and clean all components and the system (for example, by blowing out parts with clean compressed air) to remove any debris, and then pressure test and check the system for leaks. B&B Products must be inspected regularly for leaks, abrasion, kinks, heat damage and loose fittings, and replaced if worn or damaged;
(d) Not for brakes or safety-critical use. B&B Products are not approved to any Australian Design Rule (ADR) or DOT standard. They are not to be used in brake systems, or in any application where a failure could affect vehicle control or safety, or for oxygen, LPG, breathing air or potable water;
(e) Road use and compliance. It is your responsibility to ensure that any use of B&B Products complies with the laws and vehicle standards that apply in your state or territory and with the rules of any motorsport body;
(f) No modification or mixing. B&B Products must not be modified, re-machined or welded. Using B&B Products with parts from other manufacturers is at your own risk, and you are responsible for checking that the parts are compatible;
(g) Images and specifications. Product photos may be illustrative or digitally enhanced, and minor variations in finish, engraving and appearance may occur;
(h) Report problems. If you find debris, damage or a defect, stop using the product and contact us as soon as possible;
(i) Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, Cubby House Fabworks is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including engine or vehicle damage, fire, loss of use or downtime, arising from incorrect selection, assembly, installation or use of a B&B Product, or from use outside its intended purpose. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited, at our option and to the extent permitted by law, to repair or replacement of the product, resupply of the product, or refund of the price paid;
(j) nothing in this clause excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred on you under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
